As a result of the recent crash that occurred along Onitsha, the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Ali Biu has condoled with the families of victims of the crash along Ontitsh-Inteje-Akwa axis, and also called on fleet and other commercial vehicle operators, as well as private vehicle owners to exercise caution and be conscious of their environments whenever they drive and also to avoid driving against stipulated speed limit on all roads. According to the first information report from the scene of the crash, eyewitnesses stated that the DAF Leyland truck was coming from Onitsha while the Mitsubishi L300 bus was coming from Nteje axis and both vehicles got to the failed portion at the same time when the container of the Leyland Truck fell on the Mitsubishi Bus.
The Corps Marshal seized the opportunity to commend FRSC operatives whose prompt response to the distressing situation led to immediate evacuation of the victims of the crash to Divine Care Hospital Umunya and Chira Hospital for medical attention, and clearance of obstruction to ensure free flow of traffic within the axis.
