Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has approved the disbursement of N100 million to France universities where Kano students are undergoing Master’s and Doctoral Degrees programmes.
The State Government and the French Embassy in Nigeria had signed an agreement, called ‘Kano/France Joint Scholarship Programme’ in which lecturers from tertiary institutions in the state were sent to further their studies to Masters and PhD levels.
The lecturers, from the University of Science and Technology Wudil, Yusuf Maitama Sule University, the Kano State Polytechnic, among others, are in the University of Lyon, Ecole Central Nantes; the University of Bourgogne, Nice Sophia Antipolis, EPITA Paris; the University of Paris Sud; the University of Paris Sacley, among others.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Higher Education, Dr Hussaini Akilu Jarma, said Ganduje had been up and doing in ensuring that the programme continued unhindered.
