Gani Adams, Akinreti, Ayodele, others, to get TheLead magazine awards

The the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams will on Thursday, be invested with the Man of the Year award bestowed on him by the management of TheLead Magazine.

To be honoured along with the leader of the Yoruba are; the Head of the INRI Spiritual Evangelical Church, Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, and the Chairman of the Lagos council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Dr Qasim Akinreti.

The event, which TheLead Magazine’s maiden event, will hold at the Exhibition Centre of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce (LCCI), Ikeja, Lagos.

The Aare Onakakanfo, who is the chairman of the event, will be joined by Professor Bamidele Badejo, the Dean of Faculty of Environmental Studies, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State to deliver a paper on intermodal transportation and its benefits to the Nigerian maritime sector.

Other speakers at the event are; Dr Qasim Akinreti and foremost maritime consultant and National President, Council of Licensed Customs Agents Mr Lucky Amiwero.

A statement by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of TheLead Publications, publisher of TheLead Magazine and TheLead Online, Abayomi Ajibola , said while the Yoruba High Chief would be honoured as the man of the year, Primate Ayodele will be honoured with prestigious leadership award for his his role in nation building and philanthropic gesture.

Ajibola said the Aare Onakakanfo remained an epitome of peace and social crusader in the nation, giving his antecedent as activist and promoter of Yoruba culture which has earned him global recognition.

Other dignitaries to be honored include Princess Adekemi Adesanya- Eboda, the National President and Global Co-ordinator of Women and Youths Supports for Atiku popularly known as “WAYS 4 Atiku,” the former Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly, Barrister Wahab Jokotola Pelumi; former member of House of Representatives; Hon Lanre Odubote, Dr Adebiyi Philips and  the founder of Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Chief Olu Oyesanya of blessed memory.

The award list also include Barrister Tolani Animasaun, member Lagos State House of Assembly Hon Lateef Rotimi Abiru; Dr Qasim Akinreti; Chief Chekwas Okorie, National Chairman and of United Progressive Party, Professor Bamidele Badejo and Mr Lucky Amiwero.
