A Civil Society group under the aegis of Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights (CHSR) has urged the Nigerian Army not to lose guard in waging war against criminal elements, a course the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja was passionate about.
The group made this assertion in a statement signed by its National President Comrade Alex Omotehinse on Thursday, to commiserated with the Nigerian Army, the Federal Government of Nigeria and the immediate family of Chief of Army Staff who died on Wednesday.
“We urged the Nigerian Army not to see the death of the Army chief as a resolve to defeat the fight against insurgence and other associated vices plaguing Nigeria.
“It is our strong believe that Lt. Gen Taoreed Lagbaja during his lifetime was committed to riding Nigeria off criminal elements, Lagbaja left an indelible mark on the sand of times
“Nigeria has just lost a great man our sincere condolence to Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria Army and his immediate family that he left behind.May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
