A non partisan, non-government organisation, Good Governance for Ifako- Ijaiye GGI, will on Tuesday, hold a unity symposium for all politicians, political leaders, community leaders and other stakeholders in the local government.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the group, Mr Jude Ndoh and Mr. Samuel Mustapha, the essence of the gathering is to foster unity amongst the leaders for the benefit of the leaders themselves and also the entire local government including generation yet unborn.
Expected at the event are politicians from Ifako Ijaiye and Ojokoro LCDA, with the conveners insisting that the politicians must appear in person as it will not welcome a representative from anyone.
They insisted that the platform had gone all the way to select seasoned and fearless resource persons who can tell them the home truth in its desire to tell the home truth to all participants on the need to grow the local government and bury the hatchet of division that has plagued the local government since its creation.
The two lead speakers expected at the event which takes place at The Thrive Place, K-Farms Estate, off Bola Tinubu Way, Iju, are Babajide Otitoloju of the Television Continental, TVC Journalists Hangout, and Mr Eyitayo Mustapha, Chairman Editorial board Ifako-Ijaiye Television/ Glitz Community Magazine.
They would be leading other facilitators among who are Mr Tunde Bello, Publisher of Ifako Ijaiye Post and Global Times International, Engr. Tunji Oguntayo, Mr Kayode Akinsola, Pastor Seyi Adeyemo, Alhaji L.A. Azeez and Alhaji Bilesanmi, to address the theme of the symposium which is ”Resolution 2019: A fence mending agenda of political and elected leaders and stakeholdersfor strategic repositioning of Ifako-Ijaiye local government in Lagos State.
They would all be harping on the need for all political stakeholders in the local government to work in unity and build a formidable front that would make it impossible for the council to retrogress.
