The Renaissance Political Forum in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency has raised red flag on an alleged plot by the Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to railroad and arm-twist the course of Justice, through the Lagos state House of Assembly Election Tribunal.
Sanwo-Olu, according to information, is planning to do this in favour of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates in Amuwo-Odofin constituency 1 and 2, Hon. Ola Western and Hon Age Rauf Sulaimon against the winners of the poll from the Labour Party, Hon Foluke Osafile and Hon Olukoya Doherty respectively.
The group, while stating their resolve to resist such sinister motives, noted that the cited constituencies remain an opposition’s stronghold prior to now.
In a statement signed by the Group’s Director General Wisdom Aruwajoye, he gave a trajectory of various political feats of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area prior to now as a reference point.
Hon. Oghene Emma Egoh held sway twice for Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives while Hon. Akeem Bello and Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu were at the State House of Assembly, this would not have been possible if APC had the control here. Though APC succeeded in convincing Hon Akeem Bello to decamp to their side.
Dipo Olorunrinu who has good standing amidst the people and as well a popular candidate of the PDP, was robbed by APC for Hon.Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay, but she could not sustain the ill-gotten status.
We are of the opinion that this new ploy to rob the good people of Amuwo-Odofin again will fail, but it is just fine for the Governor to cease this journey of no return, as the people are a lot wiser now.
It is also true that the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made several attempts after the election to stop the LP declared winners from getting their certificate of return. But he met very stiff resistance. Hence, we are alerting the public of his new move but he should be rest assured that he will fail again.
We are even more bothered that Governor Sanwo-Olu availed himself to be used in truncating the will of the people conferred on his cousin, Hon David Olukoya Doherty in Amuwo Odofin Constituency 2.
We are imploring all and sundry to allow the judiciary to adjudicate without fear or favour.
