The coalition of the Yoruba Youth Assembly of Nigeria, BATBOS Platform, Majesty Development Initiative and Nigeria for Buhari Again, have felicitated with president Muhammad Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, on the success of their inauguration for second term in office.
The groups joined by APC National Pacesetters Alliance, Liberal Mind Grassroots Forum, BOS Indomitable Ladies and APC OKL Progressive Movement in Lagos, also felicitated with the governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu his deputy, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, and Dr Kayode Fayemi on his emergence as chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
They also congratulated the newly appointed Chief of Staff, Lagos State Government, Mr Tayo Ayinde.
In a press statement issued by the convener Prince Adeniyi Olutimehin, in Lagos, on Saturday, the bodies equally registered their solidarity with Hon. Femi Gbajabialmila in his bid to attain the office of the speaker of House of Representatives and implore all well meaning members of the green chamber in the 9th assembly to support him.
The group commended the astonished beginning of governor Sanwo-Olu, who shortly after the swearing in ceremony signed his first executive order on indiscriminate refuse dumping, traffic Management and public works, and also went further to visit the Apapa Port to get first hand update on the traffic, environmental situation and relocation of trailers in order to ensure permanent solutions to the problem.
The groups also noted and hailed the appointment of a woman as the secretary to the Lagos state government also confirmed the gender sensitivity of Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat administration.
“We are determined to team up with Sanwo-Olu’s government to focus on its cardinal agenda which is known as THEME to achieve a greater Lagos.
The groups said it would be organising a civic reception in June to honour of the governor as he also celebrates his birthday, his deputy and the newly elected officials in the State.
The programme, which will feature Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as a guest speaker, will also feature discourses with Lagosians on the roles expected of them to help government serve them better.
