Guinness Nigeria appoints Vivien Shobo as non-executive director

Guinness Nigeria Plc. has announced the appointment of Mrs. Vivien Shobo as an Independent Non-Executive Director. She will resume on 1 September, 2024.

A statement from the nation’s brewing giant said Mrs. Shobo, currently the Chief Executive Officer of FVS Advisory Partners, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the board.

From September 2003 to December 2019, she was the Chief Executive Officer of Agusto & Co., the foremost Pan African credit rating agency, and a leading provider of economic and industry research in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. Under her leadership, Agusto & Co. fortified its position as a leading Pan African credit rating agency and diversified its product and revenue base. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Mrs. Shobo holds an MBA in Finance from Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom.

She honed her skills through management and leadership programmes at esteemed institutions including Harvard Business School, Wharton Business School, and Lagos Business School. Mrs. Shobo is a highly regarded Financial Analyst with an excellent reputation and a proven track record of achievements. She possesses sound knowledge of macroeconomic expertise in economic research, having overseen the production of industry reports in sectors such as Banking, Oil and Gas, Power, and Manufacturing. She is also a frequent speaker at domestic and global African capital market conferences.

Mrs. Shobo is a lifetime member of WIMBIZ (Women in Management, Business and Public Service), a non-profit organisation that, over the last 20 years, has implemented programmes to inspire, empower, and advocate for greater representation of women in leadership positions in both the public and private sectors. Additionally, she is a member of the International Women’s Society and the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD).
