This year’s HAULMACE conference with the theme: Embracing the Gas Initiative in the Haulage and Logistics Industry: Sustainability and Innovation, will take place at The Stable Event Centre, Surulere, Lagos, at the conference which comes up on December 18.
HAULMACE’s convener, Mr. Alfred Okugbeni, in a statement said the aim of the event is to provide a platform for advocacy and address pressing issues affecting the growth and development of the industry.
According to him, the theme of this year’s conference was arrived at after several engagements with major stakeholders in the haulage and logistics industry on the need to discuss the benefits and roadmap of CNG in the haulage and logistics sector.
Okugbeni who described HAULMACE as the biggest gathering of decision makers in the haulage and logistics industry in Nigeria, said the conference, which started in 2015, aimed at shaping the future of the haulage and logistics business in Nigeria.
“The conference aims to bring together top executives of haulage companies, logistics directors, directors of manufacturing companies, supply chain managers and all stakeholders in the dry and wet cargo transportation industry to share insights, and explore sustainable energy solutions.
“The event will delve into the current trends and future prospects of energy use in logistics, showcasing successful case studies and innovative technologies,” Okugbeni said.
He said this year. The focus shifted to CNG not only because of economic necessity going by the direction of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, but its environmental imperative as a promoter of cleaner fuel.
He said Nigerians have watched as CNG has become the game changer in the last 18 months, adding that with hyper-inflation driving up the cost of transportation, CNG offers a cleaner and more affordable alternative to fossil fuels.
“More than ever before, there is need to explore strategies for adopting CNG technologies to achieve cost reduction, sustainability, and innovation in the haulage and logistics sector,” Okugbeni stated.
