The Ogun State Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu has warned land grabbers and cultists who are fast turning the state to a haven to stay clear from the state as the Police Command will make the state hot for criminals.

Alamutu made this known at the Abuja Continental Hotel, in a short remark, at the seventh Annual General Conference (AGM), of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, (GOCOP), where he had made a brief appearance to throw his support for the online publishers.

The Police Chief said the Police Command is winning the war against land grabbers and cultists terrorising innocent people of the state, adding that people should avail the police with requisite information necessary to completely stamp crime and criminalities out of Ogun State completely.

Alamutu while congratulating the online publishers for maintaining strong presence in the social media space, urge them to do more to save the nation from the scourge of fake news and misinformation.

Alamutu reminisced on one such incident when he had attended a social function in his early days in the force and a photograph of him dancing at the function was published with insinuation that he was dancing with criminals.

He said in truth, he realised that among the four other people who were in the picture with him, he could only identify only one person, adding that that incident made him to decide never to attend social functions again.

He urged GOCOP to continue to strive towards sanitizing the media industry, adding that he looked forward to greater collaboration with members of the association in the onerous responsibility of sanitizing, and riding Ogun State of criminal elements.
