Popular Nollywood actor Halima Abubakar has issued a public apology to Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries, acknowledging that she defamed him.
Abubakar admitted to spreading false information about Suleman and causing him distress on her Instagram page on Wednesday.
In her apology letter to Apostle Suleman, Halima Abubakar expressed deep remorse for the harm she caused to his reputation, hoping the gesture would help mend the damage done.
She wrote, “I am writing to you to acknowledge the falsehood I made against you on social media and to offer my sincere apologies. After deep reflection, and for my conscience to be in accord with God, I have realized the depth of the harm and distress caused by my lies.
“I admit that I made false allegations against you and also regret my action and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Lizzy Suleman, your family and the leaders of the Omega Fire Ministry.
“With this letter, I humbly ask for forgiveness, recognising that my apology cannot undo the harm, pain, and distress I caused, and I ask you to find a place in your heart to forgive me as I was not thinking right then. Sir, you have done a lot for humanity. Please extend your hands to forgiveness towards me.
“Once again, sir, I am truly so sorry for all the hurts and distress I caused you, your family, and ministry. Thank you very much, and may the heavens calm your heart. God bless you, sir.”
