Ifako Harmony Estate CDA swears in new excos

The Ifako Harmony Estate Residents Association (IHERA) in Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos, on Saturday, swore in new executive members to pilot the affairs of the association.

The new Chairman Alhaji Isa Egbeyemi, in his inaugural remarks shortly after the new executives were sworn-in by Barrister Biola Duduyemi, said his team which would hold office till 2023, would strive to make all residents of the estate proud.

He said he is humbled to see many stakeholders in the estate defying the early morning downpour to gather at the estate gate, venue of the event to witness the official change of baton of leadership in the estate.

The Chairman said: “My great and wonderful fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and youths in Harmony Estate. With every sense of humility, I welcome you all to this event. A day the Estate is once again officially handing over the affairs of this community to the hands of God Almighty, with my team and I to serve the people of Harmony Estate, as a will of God, to consolidate the present achievements of the immediate past and previous administrations”.

According to him, he and his team would run a transparent, accountable, reliable and responsible administration. “We are also promising to carry along everyone, irrespective of tribe, social or religious affiliations without infringing on Harmony Estate’s established policies as regards guidelines, rules and regulations.

“We promise to run a functional, objective and all-encompassing listening administration, to the benefit of all inhabitants including visitors as we intend to continually take this Estate to unprecedented heights by God’s grace”.

The new Chairman also promised that; “We will follow the already established progressive template of our predecessors to maintain our infrastructures as well as add more values to them for improved service delivery.

“We will strive to continue the development of the Estate and we believe with high hope that dues and levies will be promptly paid, as it is our sole source of revenue for development.

“We will identify projects that will be cost effective, and also put measures in place that will further strengthen all safety and security initiatives.

“Harmony Estate is our home and our pride to which we will guide jealously and ensure no recklessness in attitudes, behaviours, and lawlessness with assurance of equal rights, justice and fairness, adequate security to lives and properties.

“This will be an administration of the people by the people and for the people in its true sense and meaning”.

He also appealed to all stakeholders to support the new team. “We are confident and proud of the elders we have, to which we shall always consult for their wisdom and advice”.

“We are also counting on the support of all our predecessors whose pool of experience of running successful office remains a legacy we will always protect.

“We are also banking on the support of our committed, caring and concerned mothers and the youths.

“We will also be delighted to enjoy the best and usual support and cooperation of the already established committees as wingers in service much more than ever before and we pray God almighty will reward them all in their endeavours for this selfless humanitarian service to Harmony estate”.

“Further, I want to appeal to us all, that we see ourselves as ambassadors of this promising estate and to act sincerely for correctness, beneficial vital information disseminations, as well as maintain good neighborhood to be our brothers’ keepers at all times in love, peace and harmony”.

“We pray to God almighty in his might and mercy for his full support to us all, in sound health, wisdom, long life and prosperity. We pray for God’s favour to achieve success in this new administration, as he has done to our predecessors, as man alone cannot do anything without the help of God, because only He has power to do all things. On behalf of my exco members, I thank you all for your patience”.

“We look forward to the best of support from you all as we proceed and progress on this journey. Harmony Estate’s small London here we come. Harmony Estate is an ark built by God to carry us all safely to the promise land. So, help us God. There shall be showers of blessing this is the promise of God. Your Chief Servant Isa Egbeyem” he concluded prayerfully.

Other members of the executive committee are; Pastor Babatunde Dada as Vice Chairman, Barr Babatunde Badejo, General Secretary, and Mr. Olajide Adeyemo, as Welfare Secretary.

Others are: Mr. Chuks Enete, Treasurer, Mr. Naba Kelly Henry, as Assistant General Secretary, Ms. Omowunmi Akinlagun, Financial Secretary and Mr. Olasunkanmi Ajao, Public Relations Officer.

Earlier, the former Chairman Barrister Shina Agbesusi had thanked all residents for their outstanding support which culminated in the giant strides his executive council was able to take for the four years they were in the saddle.

According to him, the highpoints of the cooperation they enjoyed in office was responsible for laudable and ambitious tarring of all road networks within the estate and the street lights which has improved the security and enhance livability of the estate.

He charged the new excutive members not to rest on their oars, but to strive to take the estate to greater strides. He said his executive council is happy to be leaving the affairs of the estate in safe hands, and prayed God to continue to guide the new leaders right.
