Chairman Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Apostle Oloruntoba Oke has presented the 2021 Budget, which he christened “Budget of Rekindled Hope” to the council’s lawmakers.
Presenting the budget before the councillors at the Local Government Area office, Iju area of Lagos, yesterday, Oke said the presentation which is statutory, offers him another opportunity to press home his administration’s vision.
According to him, he is determined, despite the ravaging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the EndSARS protest to bring the dividends of democracy down to the doorsteps of the people.
He said: “I’m bringing hope to people of Ifako-Ijaiye by rebuilding the destruction caused by the event side by side the financial projections for 2021 as we reflect on all programmes and projects carried out by this administration with major facilities needed within our community for which we intend to execute”.
He said his projection is to improve upon all that have been achieved in the past year, to rekindle hope and to consolidate the gains of the past years with a determination to improve on the provision of social amenities; “hence we have made more provision for capital expenditure with a proposed budget of Three Billion, One Hundred and Seventy- Seven Million, Three Hundred and Twenty Four Thousand, Ninety Four Naira and Twenty Four Kobo (N3,177,324,094.24).”
While saluting the doggedness of leader of the council, the councillors and people of Ifako-Ijaiye, the council chief added that his priority would be the consolidation of his administration’s six point agenda, which will improve the standard of living of the people of Ifako-Ijaiye with focus on Marketing management and Trade Development, Welfare package for the Elderly, Comprehensive Healthcare Delivery, Youth Empowerment/ Skill Acquisition, Sports Regeneration , Infrastructural development & Development of Social Amenities.
