Leaders of the Igbo nation in Lagos State have laid one demand before the incoming administration led by the governor-elect Mr Babajide olusola Sanwo-Olu to give them a sense of belonging in his administration.
The urged him to rise above tribalism and ethnic sentiments if he hopes to make a success of the exalted office.
The Group Leader of Igbo Movement of Nigeria, Chief Chris Onyekachi disclosed this Friday at his Ogudu, Ojota residence, while addressing newsmen.
He said the Igbo community expressed their loyalty to the Governor elect Sanwoolu Babajide as he shall begin his 4 years administration and promised that the Igbos shall remain law abiding citizens and continue to support his tenure.
Onyekachi explained that the reasons they visited Ketu market and others enmasse recently to campaign was to preach peace among marketers so as to showcase that we are one big family in Nigeria and be in unity.
He appealed to Babajide Sanwoolu that what the Igbo people asked for is to give the Igbos sense of belonging that even from his own decision to make peace reign, recently he organised Ramadan Lecture among muslims showing that he against Religion or anyone but we are all one, he said.
He wished the Governor elect well and success in his Tenure as Lagos State does the handing over on May 29,2019.
