The people of Ihiala Local Government are expected to troop out in their numbers to vote in the supplementary election that would decide the winner of the election which was declared inconclusive on Saturday.
The two leading parties – All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would be looking at ramping up more votes from the 124,000 accredited voters who would go out to vote this morning.
The election would be taking place between 10am to 4pm.
As at 9.45 am according to a report monitored on the Arise News, many of the adjunct INEC staffs are yet to be alloted electoral materials meant for their places of assignment, indicating that election might still suffer some glitches despite the more that 72 hours to prepare for the supplementary election in Ihiala.
The Electoral Commissioner Prof Florence Obi had dec;ared the Anambra election inconclusive on Saturday, alluding to the violence which prevented the election to hold in the Ihiala Local Government.
She had therefore ordered a supplementary election in the local government to enable those living in Ihiala to exercise their franchise like their colleagues in the remaining 19 local government.
