In a heartfelt show of respect and solidarity with the ancient community, gubernatorial candidate Olufemi Ajadi, representing the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general election, made a poignant visit to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, to attend the funeral of Madam Omoyaade Abigeal Mabosanyinje, affectionately known as Iya Onipako.
Madam Omoyaade Abigeal Mabosanyinje, who lived to the remarkable age of 125, passed away on the 7th of August, 2023. Her life and legacy were celebrated during a touching Christian burial ceremony held on the 1st of September, 2023, in her beloved hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.
The presence of Olufemi Ajadi at the funeral served as a testament to his strong ties to the community and his commitment to connecting with the people of Ogun State. Ajadi, who is one of the national chieftains of NNPP, expressed his condolences to the grieving family and praised the late Iya Onipako’s long and meaningful life.
He said, “Iya Onipako was a living testament to the resilience and rich cultural heritage of Ilaro. Her life story is an inspiration to us all, and her passing is a great loss to our community.”
“I wish all the people that accompanied me to my hometown a safe journey back to their various destinations and may we be successors to our parents,” he said.
The funeral procession saw a large turnout of community members, political supporters, and well-wishers who came to pay their final respects to the beloved centenarian. The event was a poignant reminder of the deep cultural and familial bonds that tie together the people of Ilaro.
Madam Omoyaade Abigeal Mabosanyinje’s legacy of longevity and her contribution to the Ilaro community will undoubtedly remain etched in the hearts of those who knew her.
The consistent humanitarian assistance and construction of infrastructural facilities in Ogun State by Ajadi, his presence at this solemn occasion showcases his dedication to serving the people and preserving the heritage of Ogun State in 2027.
The Senatorial Candidate of Ogun West for the concluded 2023 general election, Barrister Olufemi Aina, said he is grateful to see Ajadi’s perpetual struggle to maintain standards in democratic governance in 2027.
“I wish you a successful political career with other endeavors in your life,” he said.
The wife of the chieftain, Mrs. Oyindamola Motunrola Ajadi attended the occasion with Alhaja Shakirat Arowolo, who was the deputy governor of the candidature of Ajadi at the concluded 2023 general elections.
Other political stalwarts present at the occasion are the caretaker chairman of NNPP, Ogun State, Alhaji Ibrahim Adekunle; the 2023 Senatorial candidate Ogun Central, Kehinde Teluwo; the candidates for Ogun State House of Assembly: Hon. Adenaya Fatai (Ogun Waterside), Hon. Kilamuwaye Badmus (Abeokuta South), Hon. Funsho Adekunle (Ijebu-Ode constituency), and the caretaker PRO Ogun State, Omokehinde Olowu.
