The Labour Party candidate for Imo House of Assembly, Ngorokpala State Constituency Bye-election, Comrade Alvan Ahaotu Opara; has promised to redeem the image of Ngorokpala through good & accountable representation

He said the rebuilding is necessary in view of the mess created by the last occupant former PDP member, Hon. Tochi Okereke, who abandoned his office and constituency activities over two years plus.

Hon. Alvan finished his early school stage at Alatia Amala primary school, Mbutu secondary school, proceeded to poly Nekede where he obtianed his OND,  later to Imo state university with a degree in business management(in view)

According to him, “I was motivated to run this elective position because of low level of development/infrastructures in Ngorokpala which our elected political leaders are not paying attentions to.

IKUKUOMA 2022, said this yesterday, during a virtual public discussion with Mazi Ejimofor and Nde Ngorokpala, @Ngorokpala Indigenes Forum,

He said, initially, I was not interested for now, but waiting for 2023 general election. But as things changed, I saw those better than I do relegated through their various party primaries, I decided not to fold my arms and watch things go wrong the more “.

While speaking in a “One on One” virtual discussion with Mazi Ejimofor; Comr Alvan Ahaotu Opara told nde Ngorokpala that nothing will make him go against their will, blaming “godfatherism” as the major cause for lack of development in Ngorokpala and mismanagement of public funds.

Responding to questions thrown by the audience on synergy between him and the LGA chairman as coming from different parties; Comrade Alvan said, they are two different arms of  government, none takes directive from other but for the interest of Nde Ngorokpala, I will always engage the LGA chairman for discussions and dialogue despite party differences.

“I will also also link my people with the government and work inline with the peoples mindset towards the growth and development of our LGA, he promised”.

“Youth empowerment, good infrastructures and development top on my list “.

Comrade Alvan also refuted a claim made by one of the audience that Imo state govt has not been paying constituency allowance for the past two years, saying that he don’t believe in that, ” but even at that, there were other emoluments and allowance accruals, therefore, the onus is on the lawmaker to make do with what he/she has on table to attend to the needs and welfare of his constituency.

Moreover, you can also attract beneficial projects through a robust relationship with the executive and the house leadership via active participations and this will happen if you elect me as your representative in IMHA come 26th February 2022, Alvan said.

IKUKUOMO 2022″  also noted that during his time as the onyeaghalanwanneya President, many forces confronted me because of their selfish interest and greed but l resisted them by taking up the matter to government authorities, which led to no blood shed.

As Onyeaghalanwanneya President, I initiated the historic OYM carnival and the publication of OYM magazine/ OYM platform. I also established OYM secretariat/office which has never been in existence over the years before my assumption.

Amidst all crises I was also able to secure some job opportunities for some OYM members.

“I have stood for so many Ngorokpala affairs even in critical times. I also sponsored protests against the killings of Ngorokpala youths. I also led the forces from Ngorokpala to the recovery of embezzled hundreds of million naira appropriated for the construction of nguru/umuneke/nkwoala road was also contested and prosecuted by myself and other few patriotic sons of Ngor okpala.

Comr Alvan Ahaotu said, If given the opportunity to represent nde Ngorokpala in the Imo state house of assembly, “I will make laws that will help enhance Ngorokpala especially A motion to dredge and commercialise imo River banks” and all riverine areas in imo state.

“Nde Ngorokpala we should look aside party affairs and choose our leaders wisely, ” we are worth more than we are today “. Why can’t we think about growth and development? Why is our youths being used against their own destiny? Can’t we have bank and ATM stations in Ngorokpala? Why do we choose to keep serving the rich? Why can’t we make the changes we need.

Vote for me and the Labour Party because we know the address of poverty in Ngorokpala and I have got ideas to nip it in the bud, vote for me because I am not being sponsored by any money bag thus I won’t be under siege of accountability to any godfather.

Comrade Alvan Ahaotu Opara is a successful business man, happily married and blessed with three children.
