INEC fixes new date for Adamawa’s supplementary poll

INEC Chairman Prof Mahmud Yakubu

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Tuesday, fixed Adamawa State’s supplementary governorship election on Thursday, 28 March.

Disclosing this via its official tweeter handle, the commission opined that, the exercise would be conducted in 14 local government areas of the state, with a total of 40,988 registered voters.

Recall that the states supplementary election was stopped as a result of a suit filed against the commission (INEC), by the governorship candidate of the Movement for Restoration and Defence for Democracy (MRDD), Mustafa Shaba. Shaba had argued that his party logo was omitted by INEC  during the March 9 governorship election.
