Internally displaced persons in Borno receive NEMA’s routine food rations

The food ration distributed by NEMA.

No fewer than 35,508 households in Borno State have received the routine food ration from staff of the Nigeria Emergency Management Agency’s (NEMA) North East Zonal Office.

The Zonal Coordinator Wagami Lydia Madu have commenced the routine distribution of food items for Internally Displaced person’s in camps host communities and liberated communities of Benisheik, Mainok and Jakana in Borno State.

Each benefitting household is expected to receive a ration consisting of rice, beans, maize, vegetable oil, salt, Tomato paste and seasoning.

This is following an approval granted by the Director General National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed Habib as part of Federal Government’s effort to support the Borno State government in catering for the welfare of victims of insurgency.

NEMA is also supporting and working with the Borno State government through the state Emergency Management Agency on the plan to return the IDPs back to their communities in accordance with international humanitarian principle of safe and dignified return for IDPs.
