Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski has criticized the Spanish La Liga after his three-match ban was confirmed this week.
Lewandowski was sent off in Barcelona’s final LaLiga game against Osasuna ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup break.
The 34-year-old was shown a second yellow card by referee, Jesus Gil Manzano after just 30 minutes during the encounter, following a reckless challenge on David Garcia.
The Poland international will miss Barcelona’s next La Liga games against Espanyol, Atletico Madrid and Getafe after returning from the World Cup in Qatar.
Reacting, Lewandowski admitted that the three-match ban is too long.
“For me, it’s too long. The gesture was not directed at the referee, but towards the bench. I hope the appeal prospers”, the former Bayern Munich star said, as per reports from Marca.
