‘Jagaban Army’ is threat to national security, says PDP Presidential Campaign

PDP Presidential Campaign Spokesman Kola Ologbondiyan

The Jagaban Army, which was created for Bola Tinubu, was allegedly a threat to Nigeria’s armed forces; according to the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation.

The party urged National Security Council Chairman and the Commander in chief of the Armed Foorces President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately convoke a meeting of the nation’s highest Security Council to discuss the threat.

Kola Ologbondiyan, the spokesperson claimed in a statement that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate was acting desperately.

The Jagaban Army is allegedly “training and arming thugs with lethal weaponry in hidden locations;” according to “undeniable allegations,” he claimed.

But the APC Youth Leader Dayo Israel had cleared all speculations regarding the nomenclature of the campaign team, claiming that the branding was intended to convey the “political canvassers and foot soldiers who are committed to Door to Door campaign for the APC flagbearer.”

However, the Atiku campaign noted that the APC unit has internal ranks; and uniforms that give the impression that Nigeria has become “Tinubu’s domain.”

The organisation said the ex-Lagos governor “declared war” at a meeting in London “by openly charging his party cohorts to take power at all costs”.

The comments that “political power is not served in a restaurant; fight for it, snatch it and run” were enough to grill him for treasonable felony, it stressed.

Ologbondiyan further accused Tinubu of brazenly subverting the nation’s sovereignty; and the office Buhari occupies.

“Asiwaju Tinubu is desperate to be President, but with manifest signs of rejection by Nigerians; he is ready to destroy our democratic process.

“Insurrectionary groups that unleashed mayhem and derailed democracy in many parts of the world started with desperate power seekers”, he added.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has come under fire from the All Progressives Congress APC for demanding the arrest of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, an APC candidate, on suspicions of drug trafficking.

Chief Spokesperson of the APC PCC and Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Festus Keyamo SAN, on Sunday, January 22, called the PDP Presidential Campaign Council PCC, a copycat; and claimed that the opposition party had just adopted the APC’s appearance over the criticism of Tinubu.

Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s standard bearer, is wanted by the APC PCC for allegedly opening an unlawful account called a Special Purpose Vehicle SPV; while serving as vice president between 1999 and 2007.

“I’m laughing: these PDP fellows are pathetic; I was told they copied our style and all their spin doctors held a joint conference. Copycats. Nothing new. All old, unproven stories against Tinubu. What is gripping the nation now is Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV). #Atikugate”, Keyamo tweeted.
