Mahmud-Fari said the suspects were arrested at various Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer Based Tests (CBT) centre in Karu, Akwanga and Lafia local government areas of the state.

“These are our leaders of tomorrow but have decided to become criminal at this tender age. They were arrested in Karu, Akwanga and Lafia local government areas for examination malpractice.

“We are taking them to the court of law where they must go and face the consequences of their actions.

“We cannot allow this to continue because if we do, then we are saying we want Nigeria to collapse.

“If they start committing crime at this stage, what will happen if they grow older and become the leaders,” he said.

Mahmud-Fari said NSCDC will continue to support JAMB to rid examination centers of criminal minded persons.

“Some of them were hired to write for others while some didn’t register but investigation is ongoing to get to the root of what they did,“he said.

Mahmud-Fari said that one of the suspects was arrested in Masaka in Karu local government area, two in Akwanga local government area and  the fourth in the CBT centre in Taal E-Library in Lafia local government area.

He urged youths to always strive to obey the law and avoid involvement in any act that was against the law.

Dr Mahmuda Adamu, Zonal Director of JAMB covering Nasarawa, Benue and Plateau states, said the board would continue to put strict security measures to rid examination centres of malpractice.

“Because of the measures we put in place, we have been able to pick out impersonators. For these ones, they will be charged to court and the maximum punishment is 21 years imprisonment,” he said.

“These youths must understand that there is no shortcut to success. This is the beginning of bad things.

“When somebody impersonate to write for another person, that means even when the person goes to the university, he will still try to use shortcuts.”
