Kano State is experiencing a wave of celebration as the Certified True Copy of a recent Appeal Court judgment reveals Governor Abba Yusuf’s victory.
Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) congratulated Yusuf, emphasizing the discrepancy between the Court of Appeal’s decision and the publicly announced result.
Residents took to the streets in jubilation after discovering that the written verdict contradicted the initial outcome in favor of the APC candidate.
The Kano State Attorney General, Haruna Dederi, highlighted discrepancies between the tribunal’s ruling and the certified document, clarifying that the decision to remove Governor Yusuf was overturned.
Ambassador Ajadi expressed his joy over the victory, commending the NNPP, Governor Abba Yusuf, and party leaders. He also criticized the APC, accusing them of destabilizing Nigeria through dubious means.
Ajadi warned against manipulation of the law, praising the judiciary for upholding the truth.
He said, “We appreciate the court for standing up for the truth. Congratulations to my brother, Abba Yusuf, on his win. Kudos to our party members and the people of Kano for their peaceful behavior despite challenges.”
“I encourage Governor Abba Yusuf to focus on bringing positive change to the people who elected him willingly,” he said.
As events unfold in Kano, this political turnaround sheds light on challenges in the electoral process, prompting increased scrutiny of political maneuvers in the country.
