A Kaduna State governorship candidate in 2019, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Isa Kudan Ashiru believes he won the election but was rigged out.
He promised that in the 2023 contest, he would leave no stone unturned and follow due process to succeed.
He assured that he is in politics to serve humanity and provide the dividends of democracy to his constituents.
Speaking at an interactive session with newsmen in Kaduna, he stated that his aspiration to govern Kaduna State on the PDP platform was still intact.
According to him, “I intend to pursue it until success is achieved.”
DAILY POST reports that Ashiru served in Kaduna State House of Assembly for two terms before proceeding to the House of Representatives and also served another two terms.
He also contested against Governor Nasir El-Rufai on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and lost at the primaries before returning to the PDP in the 2019 general elections where he became the candidate, but was defeated by Governor El-Rufai.
The PDP stalwart believed that he has a vision which he believes, if given the opportunity, would transform the lives of the people for the better, saying that he is not in politics to serve himself but the people.
“Things have changed. I feel I have something better to offer to improve the economic and social condition of our people, that is why I am going to run again,” he assured.
He stated that his desire is to ensure that all parts of the State felt the impact of governance and to provide the needed security in the State.
