In a statement signed by the NGF Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the NGF said that this accident is “not just a loss to Kano State but also to the entire sports community in Nigeria.

“We express our condolences to the families of the athletes, the state government and, ultimately, the sporting community in both Kano State and Nigeria,” the statement read.

“We pray Allah reposes the souls of the Athletes and we also pray that he provides succour to their families at this terrible time.”
