A final year student of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), simply identified as Rachael, who chose to work in a hotel in Ogbomoso due to ASUU strike, and her employer, Mr Olugbenga Owolabi, who lives in the United States, were brutally murdered by their abductors on Thursday.
Owolabi, had been kidnapped the very day he arrived in Nigeria along with his staff, and the abductors had demanded the sum of N5 million ransom, which was paid by the victim’s family members.
The abductors not only collected the N5 million ransom paid by Owolabi and his staff, Rachael, but still went ahead to shoot and killed them. The motorcycle operator hired by the bike man who took the ransom money to the kidnappers was also shot dead.
