KIWANIS club gives back to school kits to children in Ajah

A global organization of volunteers under the aegis of KIWANIS International has attempted to reduce harsh economic realities on the parents, through school children in Badore area of Ajah, Lagos with distribution of back-to-school kits.

The initiative was informed by Kiwanis Club Lagos Central a branch of KIWANIS International dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time ideology.

President of Kiwanis Club Lagos Central Barr. Sharon Orekyeh in commemoration of the chapter’s inauguration, held a back-to-school drive aimed at providing basic back to school amenities for the children.

Items like school bags, pencil cases, biros, pencils, erasers to name a few were distributed at the event over the weekend.

A massive turnout of students from various schools in the neighbourhood, expressing their appreciation was recorded.

Barr. Sharon Orekyeh while addressing newsmen appreciated the massive turn out.

“This maiden edition of our back-to-school initiative was a success, and a way to give back to the community because children today become leaders of tomorrow.

“I urge you all to keep hope alive and watch out for more sensitization and empowerment initiatives in different communities aimed at the betterment of children in Lagos State.” Barr. Orekyeh said.

The event also featured a lecture session, games, refreshments and sharing of gifts to attendees.
