SUNRISE NEWS, Lagos, July 29, 2020 One of the credible aspirants poised to jostle for the replacement of the vacant position at the Lagos State House of Assembly for the member representing Kosofe Constituency II,Hon.Abiodun Salami,has dispelled rumour making the rounds that he opted out already.
The said position, which was made vacant due to the sudden demise of late Hon.Tunde Braimoh on 10th of July,2020, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proviso must be filled via a byelection within 90 days.
The media assistant to Hon.Salami,Mr Niyi Adesanya in a statement issued on Monday debunked the purported withdrawal of Hon Abiodun Musiliu Salami from the race to fill the vacant seat vacated by the deceased Buraimoh.
“We wish to state unequivocally that Hon Abiodun Salami didn’t at no time discuss with anybody on this issue neither has he withdrawn from the race or intend to.
“On the contrary,he is rather more committed to ensure his dream of serving the good people of kosofe constituency 2,by occupying this seat comes to fruition.
He stressed further that, “actualising the kosofe constituency 2 of our dream by bringing dividend of democracy closer to our people and keying into the THEME project of his Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu (the governor of Lagos state) form the basis of his candidature.
We wish to assure all his well wishers and the masses that he is in the race not for himself but to provide sound leadership and direction.
We further assure all of his steadfastness and commitment to clinching the party ticket, when the time comes and no one should be bothered with the clear misinformation in town about his next line of action”.
