Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on Monday, accepted the resignation letter of government submitted by the Prime Minister, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
According to an Amiri Decree, the Emir instructed the ministers to run urgent affairs until the formation of a new government in the Gulf country that sees frequent cabinet reshuffles.
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, on Jan.13, submitted the resignation letters of his government to the Emir.
Al-Hamad had met with Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah and the other ministers on Jan. 12.
It was there Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali presented the resignation of all cabinet members “in the light of current developments regarding the relations between the National Assembly and the government and what the national interest may warrant,’’ according to KUNA.
The Kuwaiti government led by Sheikh Al-Hamad was formed on Dec. 14, 2020.
