The Kwara state government yesterday presented dozens of hand sanitizer to transporters in their respective garages within the state.

Performing the function in the Soludero motor parks, near Post office in Ilorin, the State Commissioner for Works, Engineer Suleiman Rotimi, said it becomes highly imperative to facilitate the people’s access to the sanitary means as part of the government’s strategy to forestall incidence of the communicable diseases like Coronavirus in the state.

Engr Rotimi, who was represented by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Garba Majo noted that the state government is living no stone unturned to protect Kwarans from all forms of calamity.

He said the sanitiser will go a long way to instill in both transporters and their passengers a culture of personal hygiene particularly at this critical time.

He therefore requested both current and prospective beneficiaries to make judicious use of it, claiming that the citizens’ safety remains a priority to the AbdulRazaq led administration in the state.

Responding, various heads of the transport union from different parking zones eulogized Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for taking their well being into cognizance. They promised to stick to all preventive measures put in place by the government’s task force in the interest of their safety
