The Group Managing Director of Temple Group Ltd/Lagos Computerised Vehicles Inspection Service (LACVIS) Prince Olusegun Ochuko Obayendo, at the weekend, announced that Bauchi has come onboard as the latest state to sign on to the Computerised Vehicle Inspection (CVI) service system.
Obayendo said Bauchi which formally joined the computerised vehicles Inspection states last week, became the 28th state to sign on to the computerised inspection pioneered by his company, even as he said he has his eyes on getting the CVIS to all the 36 states before the end of the year.
He spoke at the Performance and Service Award organised by LACVIS, the flagship of the Temple Group, where 75 members of staff, from all its testing centres in Lagos State, were rewarded for their service and commitment to growing the fortunes of the organisation and making the roads safer, by taking non roadworthy vehicles off the roads.
Obayendo who announced that the Temple Group, the parent company, would be 10 later in the year, said a bigger ceremony would be organised in Abuja, where dedicated members of staff drawn from all the states, would be celebrated.
“We are doing this to let you know that we recognise what you are doing for LACVIS and the transportation sector especially in Lagos and to let you know that your welfare is not taken for granted at all. This is to tell you thank you for believing in us and deciding to work for LACVIS and we believe that together, we can continue to do our best to make the roads safer for us all,” Obayendo said.
He charged all awardees to rededicate themselves to continue to give their best to LACVIS, and be a good example to others, even as those who are yet to be rewarded are urged to continue to put in their best as it would soon be their turn to be celebrated as the event would henceforth be yearly.
Among the awards given at the event were the Milestone and Excellence in Leadership Award presented to four distinguished management staffers among who are the Chief Operating Officer Engr Edward Kweku Larbi, and the General Manager Business Development Mr Victor Erabor.
Eight awards went to pioneer staff of the organisation, nine special recognition awards including LACVIS Integrity Champion of the Year (2023), which went to Mr Matthew Tanimowo,while 54 other awards went to staffers who have spent from five years and above in the company. Obayendo later announced a cash reward for the winner of the Integrity Champion.
Other category of awards presented at the event are the Best Centre for the most vehicle impression count, won by the Ojodu Test Centre, the Centre with Zero Downtime/Best Facility Maintenance Award won by Oko Afo Test Centre, Badagry.
Other awardees are; Mrs Abike Awojobi, the Special Assistant to the GMD, Damilola Banjoko, Mr Atoyebi Muideen, who won the Quality Assurance Award, Best Front Desk Officer, Mrs Adetoun Awotade, while the Best Team Player Award went to Ibrahim Kazeem.
LACVIS Integrity Champion Mr Tanimowo, lauded the Group Managing Director Prince Obayendo for his pragmatic leadership which has seen vehicle Inspection growing in leaps and bounds across the country in less than a decade. He pledged the commitment of all beneficiaries to the growth of LACVIS.
