In line with the directive of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu that Public Servants in the State, should commence access to the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS) with effect from Monday, June 1, 2020, the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS), has recorded the first Public Servant Baby.

Congratulating the parents of the new baby girl, Mr. and Mrs Adebowale Ademiluyi, the Acting General Manager, Lagos State Health Management Agency, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, during a visit to the Baby at Blue Cross Hospital, Ogba, said that the baby is a double significance to the Agency as well as Public Servants in the State because the baby was born on the Year 2020 International Public Service Day.

She said that the baby is a demonstration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitments towards ensuring that Public Servants and other residents in the State have a good, quality and affordable health care system. She commended Mr. Governor for graciously subsidizing the premiums of the Public Servants in the State.

The Acting General Manager said that any Enrollee on the scheme need not to run helter-skelter whenever there is any medical challenge as the Scheme is aimed to reduce financial stress of the Enrollees in the State.

She added that with N8, 500 paid annually, an individual can access the Scheme while a family of six consisting the father, mother and four children under 18 years old, can also benefit from the Scheme with the payment of N40, 000 per annum.

Dr. Zamba implored residents in the State who have not enrolled on the Scheme to do so immediately in order to enjoy the benefits of the Scheme and avoid financial stress during any medical challenge.

The Acting General Manager, who made the parents of the baby LSHS Ambassadors, urged them to spread the good news to the residents of the State.

Responding, Mr. Adebowale Ademiluyi, who is the Public Affairs Officer, Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASCODA) as well as his wife, Mrs Aminat Ademiluyi, expressed their appreciation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for giving the family the opportunity of having another baby through caesarian section without paying any money at the hospital.

Mr. Ademiluyi said “the Lagos State Health Scheme has helped my family a lot, caesarian section cost a lot in the hospital, therefore paying nothing has seriously helped us”.
