Lagos State Government Wednesday issued the guidelines for the ease of COVID-19 lockdown which will come into effect on May 4, saying all places of worship is to remains closed until further notice.
The State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who announced the guidelines while briefing the media said that eateries and restaurants are to open between 9am-3pm and are to do only takeout.
On public Transport, Sanwo-Olu also said that all commuters are to wear masks and gloves, and directed owners and drivers of public transport to provide hand washing equipment and thermometers and ensure that buses load 60 percent capacity.
The Governor said; ”All places of worship remains closed until further notice.”
“Eateries and restaurants to open between 9am-3pm and are to do only takeout. No eat in. Also 9am-3pm only. Take note! Must wear gloves and masks.”
“Public transport. All commuters to wear masks and gloves. Handwashing equipment and thermometers must be provided. Buses to load 60 per cent capacity. No standing. All airconditioners off! All commercial bikes suspended! Tricycles two passengers only.”
Sanwo-Olu further directed for a gradual easing phase for all businesses, noting that staffs of banks and companies are to work between 9am and 3pm with maximum of 60 percent capacity on ground, while others should work from home.
He said; “Controlled easing phase for all businesses. Banks and companies are as follows. All staff will work between 9am and 3pm. Maximum of 60 percent capacity on ground. Others to work from home.
“All schools remain closed! Teach online!”
According to him the State would be introducing whistle blower channels to monitor those who flaunts the directives.
The Governor said; “Whistle blower Channels to be introduced for any one who flaunts the directives.”
“All beaches, clubs, gyms, salon, cinemas, swimming pool remain closed. Markets to open on designated days between 9am-3pm.”
He also directed strictly enforcement on “50 percent elevator capacity only,” where elevators are in place.
Other guidelines are; “Funerals are permitted. Only 20 people permitted and that includes the officiating ministers. No party to follow it.”
“Curfew remains in place as directed by the President. 8pm to 6am. Banks to operate from 8am.- 2pm. According to him, “Review of compliance to be done again in two weeks.”
