One of Badagry’s most respected and high-flying politician, Hon. Solomon Sannu Bonu, recently convened and organised possibly the biggest fitness walks ever seen in the Badagry axis of Lagos.

The Lawmaker who represents Badagry constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has been consistently making headlines in the past few months. He has been in the news for the right reasons, doing really impressive things beneficial for the good people of Badagry.

Very recently, this hugely loved and popular lawmaker has been involved in mega empowerment programmes that have brought smiles and happiness to his constituents and the people of Badagry at large. These empowerment programmes have remained the talk of the town till date.

He also recently organised an entrepreneurship initiative that empowered many creative youths and promises to produce many millionaires for the country. The very likeable and intelligent lawmaker was also recently significantly involved in the approval of Badagry General Hospital to commence Housemanship Training by the Medical Council of Nigeria.

What this effectively means is that Badagry General Hospital will become a full teaching hospital in full capacity, just to mention a few of the remarkable things Bonu has been doing lately.

This time, the ever progressive and impactful politician came up with another highly beneficial programme. It was a fitness walk initiative aimed at helping to keep Badagrians healthy and fit. The programme was held on the 30th of November, 2024. And the turn out was massive.

Many were not surprised at the incredibly high turn out because of the personality of the man involved. Hon. Solomon Bonu right now has enjoyed all the love and support of his people on account of the many impressive things he has done for them, bringing the dividends of democracy to their doorsteps.

He is a man who enjoys tremendous respect and admiration from both the young and old. And same goes for the elders of the APC in Badagry, they hold Bonu in high esteem because he has shown to them that he is their son and they can rely on him to deliver on his promises come rain, come shine.

The fitness walk took off from the Badagry round about and proceeded to the Suntan beach. A 10 km walk. To spice up the exercise, there were lots of activities injected into the programme which excited all the participants and left a lasting impression in the minds of all those who attended.

Different aerobic exercises were conducted, out door games were played, fun competitions such as athletics and tug of war, etc, were done. There were also lots of entertainment. It was a memorable event for all the participants who saw the exercise as an exciting way of keeping fit and staying healthy.

The Lawmaker, Hon. Solomon Bonu, was also   impressed and grateful for the massive turn out.  He expressed his appreciation to the participants and to dignitaries such as his colleague at the Assembly, Hon. Desmond Elliot, David Ogungbe, Registrar, Lagos State University and many others. Below is his thank you speech following the successful hosting of the event:
