Lagos maintains lead as Nigeria records 131 new COVID 19 cases, 2 death

SUNRISE NEW, Lagos, Sept 18, 2020 Lagos State still maintained its lead as the most burdened state in the country as new confirmed cases of COVID 19 rose to 131 as at Thursday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said.

In the update posted on its website, NCDC said the infection also claimed two new death on Thursday, taking the total number of deaths to 1093, recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory since the virus enfection broke out in the country on February 27.

The agency said a total of 56735 cases have been confirmed, out of which 48092 cases have been discharged.

The 131 new cases are reported from 18 states namely – Lagos (45), Kaduna (17), Plateau (17), FCT (16), Delta (6), Niger (6), Kwara (5), Oyo (3), Akwa Ibom (2), Cross River (2), Ekiti (2), Enugu (2), Osun (2), Sokoto (2), Bauchi (1), Ebonyi (1), Katsina (1), Rivers (1)
