Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has ordered the opening of three pedestrian bridges at Orile, Suru Alaba and Mile 2 train stations to the public.
The pedestrian bridges, built as part of the Okokomaiko – CMS Blue Line Rail project are designed for commuters to access the stations and pedestrians to cross the 10 – lane Badagry Express Way.
The opening of the pedestrian bridges is coming as a relief to residents around Orile, Suru Alaba and Mile 2 who have had difficulties crossing the road.
‘We prioritize the safety of our people. The infrastructure is meant for them; so we will open the pedestrian bridges for their use,” the Managing Director of LAMATA, Engr. Abiodun Dabiri said, while giving the approval for the opening of the pedestrian bridges.
Engr, Dabiri, however, appealed to the leaders in the community to help educate their people on the need to keep and maintain the infrastructure so it could serve them well.
