Lagos new Lagos State Police Commissioner Sylvester Abiodun Alabi has assured of effective and proactive policing of the state during his watch. He spoke on Wednesday, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) office.

Alabi who expressed appreciation for the warm reception he has received from the State Government and the good people of Lagos since his resumption at his new office, said he is glad to be back in Lagos, adding that he would sustain the efforts of his predecessors in policing the state.

Alabi noted that the Lagos State Police Command has become a pride for the Police Force adding that he is happy that he has the assurances of Mr. Governor’s support and would do all that is humanly possible to ensure a humane yet effective policing of Lagos and assure the citizenry of the security of their lives and property.

He commended the Fund for its continued commitment to its mandate of providing critical support and interventions which according to him has helped in improving the operational capacity of the police, which he had benefitted from as the Divisional Police Officer for Area F, Ikeja division.

The Commissioner of Police however solicited for more support especially in the area of accoutrements, training and operational equipment to achieve his set goal of ensuring quality service delivery and improved security in Lagos State.Earlier the Executive Secretary/CEO Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, who received the police chief along with a member of the Board, Dr Ayo Ogunsan, and other top management staff,  spoke on the Fund’s mandate and gave insights on the ways the Command can continue to partner with the Fund to improve security in Lagos State.

Balogun said the Fund has been able to resource security and sustain its mandate with voluntary donations coming from corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals. He therefore harped on the need for the Police to continue to horne its police/civil relations in order to continue to enjoy the support of well meaning donors whose donations have impacted positively in carrying out their policing activities.
