By Olanrewaju Adesanya
Hon. Prince Sunday Ajayi the former Chairman Lagos 4 Lagos movement has faulted recent statement attributed to Mr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor) one of the governorship aspirants in Peoples Democratic Party, threatening legal action if the statement is not retracted.
Ajayi was taken aback by the claims by Adediran that he was a mole who has being financially induced by Bola Tinubu to thwart the efforts of Jandor in the movement.
Describing the allegations as laughable, Ajayi berates the development noting that contrary to the claims being peddled around Jandor was the one accused of romancing APC chieftains since he joined PDP.
Prince Ajayi said: “Some of the laughable claims of Jandor is that I was an APC mole in the movement and that I collected 100million naira from Bola Tinubu to undermine and sabotage the effort of Jandor in the movement.
He noted that the allegations were mere figment of Jandor’s imagination.
“ I strongly demand that Jandor provides evidence of any transaction between me and Bola Tinubu, failure upon which I will have no choice but to Institute a legal action against him.
Commenting on the next line of action the grassroots mobilizer and well grounded politician said he has decided to pull out of the movement and align forces with like minds to move Lagos forward, citing Jandor’s recent unilateral mien as the basis for their short lived relationship.
“My decision to sit back and withdraw from Lagos4Lagos was largely instigated by Jandor’s lack of focus and knee-jerk reaction in pursuit of the PDP’s ticket.
“Jandor’s deviation from all forms of democratic processes and practices from my antecedents and firm belief in any cause I believe in.
“Recent development and actions in the movement has been unilaterally carried out by the lead Visioner without consultation with me as the state Chairman, has finally made me have a rethink of my continuous participation in the movement.
Ajayi reiterated how consistent he had been in the struggle, to ensure the story of Lagos is rewritten to give room for more inclusive governance and why he would not back down on that turf.
“I was persuaded to join the movement because of its promise to ensure equity, transparency and fairness in the governance of lagos when it eventually gains political power.
“I have remained consistent in the past decades of my participation in Lagos politics. Despite my experience across different political divides and era, I have stayed true to this cause and it was on this premise that I accepted to work with the movement’s,Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran(Jandor).
“I joined the movement over two years ago and during this period,we hit the ground running combing the nooks and crannies of Lagos, using my political goodwill to mobilize support for the 2023 Guber aspiration of Jandor.” Ajayi said.
He added that his political family will make public what their next move will be soonest.
