The Lagos State Cooperative College has officially inaugurated Ibere- Otun Multipurpose Cooperative Society, in order to reduce poverty index that repletes the nation.
Ibere-Otun Cooperative Society which has subsisted for some years before now is by virtue of the inauguration, empowered to venture into more tasking, financially demanding involvement with adequate guidance and covering of the LASCOCO Institute.
Inaugurating the cooperative society, Mrs. Muritala Temitope Janet and Mr.Gbenga Alonge, LASCOCO officials highlighted the benefits that accrues to members across the branches of Ibere-Otun Multipurpose Cooperative Society.
According to Mrs. Muritala the official inauguration gives the society the opportunity to team up and embark on massive projects like estate properties,business ventures of many forms with adequate support from the institute.
She opined that it indeed signalled a new start for the validity of the multipurpose society.
She said,” By virtue of this inauguration Ibere-Otun Multipurpose Cooperative Society is a duly registered organisation with Lagos State Government.
“You can team up to get franchise for BRT vehicles,microfinance bank and many more, it is a way to afford a sustainable development of our people by a consistent involvement in ensuring systematic growth of capital for businesses to thrive.”
The founder and President of Ibere-Otun Multipurpose Society, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa, a retired civil servant who worked tirelessly with Lagos State Civil Service for 35years,after retirement decided to impact the society positively by offering financial emancipation to many.
In his take on why the society is of paramount importance,notes that it affords a leeway to closing the evident economic gaps which the government alone cannot address.
The basic data of the society were taken by the LASCOCO officials for further processes.
Ibere-Otun Multipurpose Cooperative Society branches across the state had representatives at the body’s head office to witness the official inauguration.
The Secretary of the Abule-Egba Branch,Mrs. Adejoke Adesanya notes that with sincerity of purpose and strict adherence to guiding principles much could be achieved through the Ibere-Otun Multipurpose Cooperative Society.
