LASG arrests 40 miscreants at Yaba overpass

The Lagos State Government has once again demonstrated its unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety and security of its residents with the arrest of 40 suspected hoodlums around the newly constructed Yaba Overpass Bridge, in Ebute Meta area of the State.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi said the arrest serves as a stern warning that criminal activities targeting Lagosians, particularly at critical transport areas, will not be tolerated.

He disclosed that the shanties serving as hideouts for the suspects have been demolished, with the area placed under continuous surveillance, exemplifying government’s proactive stance on public safety.

Mr. Osiyemi further reiterated government’s ongoing collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including law enforcement Agencies, to safeguard the well-being of all citizens.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly to the relevant authorities or through the Ministry of Transportation hotlines: 09020004000 or 09020009000.

The Commissioner stressed that the State Government will continue to implement strategic measures to combat criminal activities and uphold public safety.
