To pave way for routine maintenance works at Abule Nla, Brewery, Gaskiya and Navy Dockyard level crossing, the Lagos State Government has announced the diversion of traffic on April 30, and May 1 and 2, 2022.
The Commissioner of Transportation Dr Frederic Oladeinde who announced this on Friday, said government has mapped out alternative routes for motorists.
According to the repair schedule contained in the notification issued by the Commissioner, Abule Nla Level Crossing is scheduled to begin on the 30th of April, Brewery and Gaskiya will take place on the 1st of May, while Navy Dockyard is slated for the May 2nd. All diversions, according to the Commissioner, will be carried out at night, from 9:30pm to 6:00am on the scheduled dates to minimize the inconvenience for motorists.
Motorists have been advised to use Costain Bridge during the Abule Nla and Brewery maintenance works, while a counter flow will be created in each opened lane for motorists plying Gaskiya axis, while Navy Dockyard will be inaccessible to vehicular movements.
Oladeinde affirmed that traffic guides will be mounted along the affected routes to help motorists navigate the axis, adding that the State Traffic Management Authority will be on ground to coordinate movement.
