The Lagos State Government has announced a six days traffic diversion at Anthony, on the Yaba lane of Ikorodu road, beginning from Tuesday, August 31, 2021, to enable the construction of drainages.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde who disclosed this on Friday, explained that the drainage works were necessary due to the pressure of the rainy season, adding that the project will ease movement on the axis.
He revealed that motorists will be able to make use of the service lane connecting Olaide Benson, Ismail Estate, 3rd Road Avenue and Iya Oloye Crescent Junctions and existing entrances into the expressway at Seaburn Motors and Uber Inspection Centre.
“The exit from Anthony–Ikorodu Expressway at Uber Inspection centre to link the service lane connecting Oshodi road is to be temporarily blocked and a temporary exit to the service lane connecting Oshodi road will be created about 200 meters away at around the NLPC Pension Fund office,” the Commissioner explained.
Oladeinde appealed to motorists to cooperate with the Lagos Traffic Management Authority personnel that would be deployed to the area to minimize inconveniences as the repairs were geared towards eliminating gridlock that may emanate from flooding and damage to the roads.
