No fewer than 19 persons were said to have died of Lassa fever disease in Bauchi state in 2020.
The Deputy Governor, Sen Baba Tela, who doubles as the Chairman State Rapid Response Task Force on COVID-19 and Lassa fever disclosed this to newsmen in Bauchi, the State Capital, Thursday, while giving a situation update.
Sen. Baba Tela disclosed further that 48 persons are under close watch and medication adding that the State Government has approved N25 million for its control.

” As at week 14 of our campaign, the total number of death on Lassa fever is 19 and we are also following contact of 48 persons are under medication and her recovering very well” he said.
It would be recalled earlier that a total number of 43 cases were recorded with 16 deaths including two medical doctors in January.
