Former Deputy Speaker in the eighth National Assembly and the Osun State governorship candidate of the Labour party, Hon. Lasun Yusuf has dumped the Labour Party as he joined forces with the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.

Yusuf was elected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), before defecting to LP. The 2022 Osun LP governorship candidate had promised to deliver Osun to Peter Obi in 2023.

On Wednesday, Yusuf during the PDP presidential campaign in Osogbo capital of Osun State at Freedom Park, said he is dumping Labour Party because its candidate is not serious about winning.

The PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, who handed the party’s flag to ex-Deputy Speaker said the PDP is happy to receive the grassroots mobiliser into the PDP.
