LAUTECH produces 31 new professors, 52 readers

The Appointments and Promotions Committee for the Academic Staff at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has recommended the promotion of eighty-four members of its academic community into professorial cadre.

A breakdown of the figure indicated that thirty-one (31), of the lot made it to full professors’ grade while fifty-three (52) others were promoted as Readers.

A release issued at the end of the meeting of the Committee which held during the week and signed by the Registrar of the University who doubles as the Secretary to the Governing Council of the University, Dr. Kayode Akindele Ogunleye, explained that their promotions followed due process and thorough screening.

While twelve (12) new professors: Dr. (Mrs.) C. O. Olaniyi, Professor in Fish Nutrition; Dr. O. O. Adebayo, Professor of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development; Dr. J. O. Amao, Professor of Agricultural Economics; Dr. A. O. Ige, Professor of Animal Breeding and Genetics;  Dr. M. O. Raufu, Professor of Agricultural Production Economics; Dr. K. Y. Ogunleye, Professor of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development; Dr. L. O. Alamu, Professor of Forest Resources Management; Dr. P. A. Babajide, Professor of Soil Fertility; Dr. S. O. Binuomote, Professor of Agricultural Production Economics; Dr. (Mrs.) A. A. Adepoju, Professor of Agricultural Development and Policy; Dr. S. A. Babarinde, Professor of Entomology and Biopestiside; B. A. Lawal, Professor of Plant Nutrition and Soil Fertility, were made in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.

Two Professors, Drs. E. A. Toyobo and M. O. Jelili, were named in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning.

In the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, A. B. Adetunji, Professor in Computer Science (Information Management and Data Analytics); Dr. D. O. Araromi, Professor of Chemical Engineering (Process System and Control Engineering); Dr. G. K. Latinwo, Professor of Chemical Engineering (Reaction Engineering); Dr. (Mrs.) A. A. Baale, Professor of Computer Science (Data Mining); Dr. (Mrs.) A. O. Oke, Professor of Computer Engineering (Pattern Recognition and Hardware Systems Design); Dr. (Mrs) F. A. Ajala, Professor of Computer Science (Pattern Recognition/Telemedicine Application); Dr. O. S. Oladejo, Professor of Civil Engineering (Water and Environmental Engineering); Dr. G. A. Ajenikoko, Professor of Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Power System Engineering); were announced.

While two professors, Dr. O. A. Ajala, Professor of Mathematics; and Dr. A. A. Ayandele, Professor of Environmental Microbiology were also announced in the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences.

Other new Professors from the College of Health Sciences included: Dr. (Mrs.) Y.O. Adesiji, Professor of Medical Microbiology; Dr. A.S. Adekunle, Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry; Dr. O. O. Aborisade, Reader in Social and Political Physiology; Dr. O. G. Bayowa, Reader in Applied Geophysics; Dr. E. A. Adebayo, Reader in Industrial Microbiology; Dr. O. A. Olaniran, Reader in Entomology and pesticide toxicology; and Dr. K. A. Adelasoye, Reader in Ecotoxicology.

Dr. A. A. Ezekiel, Reader in Agricultural Production Economics; Dr. T. N. Akinniran, Reader in Agricultural Production Economics; Dr. O. O. Olatunji, Reader in Soil Science; Dr. S. O.
