An Osun State Federal lawmaker Hon Bamidele Salaam on Wednesday had a one-man protest against the continued abduction of the victims of Kaduna train attack.

The abductors in a video that has gone viral gave the Federal Government seven days to accede to their demand otherwise they would start killing their victims one by one.

Salaam protested barefooted against what he called government’s insensitivity and silence on the issue of the abducted victims, from the Unity Fountain to the National Assembly complex at the Three Arms Zone.

Salaam, a member of the House of Representatives described as sad a situation where the victims have been incacerated since March 28, when the train was attacked, adding that it is bad that politicians are going on as if nothing has happened.

He said if politicians give half the attention they are giving to the current political process to security, the nation would have overcome the challenges.

Salaam urged the Federal Government to give more attention to the plight of Nigerians, especially the abducted Kaduna train victims who are in various stages of trauma as a result of their abduction.

He described as bad and insensitive a situation where Nigerians will be in the custody of abductors over 67 days ago and the government would ne insensitive about their plight or doing everything humanly possible to secure their freedom.

Salaam blamed the political class who are going about their businesses and carrying on with political activities relating to the 2023 general elections as if there was nothing, and urged them to rise up and demand that government find a solution to the festering problem of insecurity in the country.

He said posterity will not forgive the Buhari government if it failed to secure the release of the victims and allow the terrorists who abducted them to fulfill their threats and killed them before help will come to their aid.
