Lawmaker inspects Abiola/Onijemo street as rehabilitation commences

Hon. Temitope Adedeji Adewale (ATA), member, representing Ifako- Ijaiye Constituency 01 in the Lagos House Assembly in company of Engr. Olujimi Nunayon Hotonu, the permanent secretary, Lagos State Ministry of works and Infrastructure and some directors on Tuesday, embarked on the inspection tour of Abiola/Onijemo link bridge and road as rehabilitation work is set to commence.

Adewale said, It is highly imperative for the rehabilitation work to commence as a way of reducing the man- hours lost to vehicular traffic on a daily basis which will serve as alternative major exit way for residents, constituents and even passerby from other linking communities who ply the road.” He further stressed, that he’s elected to represent the specific interest of his constituents but also a representative of the local government saddled with responsibility of considering people’s need as a whole amongst which is one of this, the commencement of rehabilitation of this bridge and road project in question which will put smiles on the faces of residents of constituency 01, who entrusted their votes in him.

Adewale expressed sadness over the failed portions of roads and apologized to road users, stating that the failed sections will receive priority attention as soon as the rain stops before the government at the local level and state begins the repairs.

“I want to sincerely appeal to road users in constituency 01 to be patient. We are pained by the hardship faced by motorists due to bad portions and should also try to understand that the present administration of H.E Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu will continue to make life meaningful to all the citizenry as all sectors will receive their attention.”

Among those who were part of the inspection tour are; the APC Ifako-Ijaiye LG Chairman, Deacon Banjo Omole, Supervisor for Agricultural services, Ifako-Ijaiye, Hon. Femi Abiola Afikuyomi, the Baale of Onijemo axis and its environs, Chief Jelili Awelorun, Mr Akeem Yekinni and other members of the community.
