Every profession has its requirements but there are some professions that require pretty superb liars. Failure to be one means the end of your career no matter how good you think you are.
When you meet someone for the first time, there is a tendency to ask “what do you do for a living?” It’s usually one of the first questions someone will likely ask you upon meeting you. It is normal; the person is trying to know you better most especially in business networking gatherings.
Take it or leave it; your choice of career says a lot about you. We all spend the larger percentage of our lives either working, playing or sleeping; however, how we decide to spend our days or make use of our time tells more of who we are and what we’d become.
Though, it might not be fair on some of us, the preconceived notions some people have about our choice of career either good or bad; some negative traits, such as greed; corruption and selfishness majority of us don’t like to associate with. As a matter of fact, some of us technically and pragmatically speak or act against such traits but indirectly doing the same thing we condemn others of.
Majority of us have traits we wouldn’t want to showcase to others, but due to our choice of profession we have no choice than to subtly bring those traits to bear just to accomplish our mission.
POLITICIANS
Anyone in this profession are chronic liars and it doesn’t matter who the person; even if the person is a Pope, Bishop, Pastor, Sheik or Imam; so long the person is a politician, lying is ingrained in his dealings with others, especially members of the society.
While religious leaders of all faith tells you what God is not saying, Politicians promise you what they will never do. They promise you heaven and earth just to confuse you to vote for them and win a political seat; once they make it to the seat, they forget about you and the promises they made to you. For your information, you’re just pun in the hands of anyone called Politician.
Politics is a game of lies and propaganda; and you must be a master in the game if you are to survive it. You must sharpen your craft in such a way that the lies you had told become the trust in the eyes of the people and if so smart, also become a law. For your information laws are made for the common man; the law has no power over the person that made the law because he or she is the law; and everyone that associate with the person that made the law.
I’ve heard several times that the Lord made Solomon a King. That’s not true. Solomon becoming a King is a conspiracy between Prophet Nathan and Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother and it is boldly written in 1 Kings 1:11-27 where it was stated that; so Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, “Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith has become king, and David our lord does not know it? Come, please, let me now give you advice, that you may save your own life and the life of your son Solomon. Go immediately to King David and say to him, ‘Did you not, my lord, O king, swear to your maidservant, saying, “Assuredly your son Solomon shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne”? Why then has Adonijah become king?’ Then, while you are still talking there with the king, I also will come in after you and confirm your words.”
So Bathsheba went into the chamber to the king. (Now the king was very old, and Abishag the Shunammite was serving the king.) And Bathsheba bowed and did homage to the king. Then the king said, “What is your wish?”
Then she said to him, “My lord, you swore by the Lord your God to your maidservant, saying, ‘Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne.’ So now, look! Adonijah has become king; and now, my lord the king, you do not know about it. He has sacrificed oxen and fattened cattle and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the sons of the king, Abiathar the priest, and Joab the commander of the army; but Solomon your servant he has not invited. And as for you, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, that you should tell them who will sit on the throne of my lord the king after him. Otherwise it will happen, when my lord the king rests with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon will be counted as offenders.”
And just then, while she was still talking with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in. So they told the king, saying, “Here is Nathan the prophet.” And when he came in before the king, he bowed down before the king with his face to the ground. And Nathan said, “My lord, O king, have you said, ‘Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne’? For he has gone down today, and has sacrificed oxen and fattened cattle and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the king’s sons, and the commanders of the army, and Abiathar the priest; and look! They are eating and drinking before him; and they say,’ Long live King Adonijah!’ But he has not invited me — me your servant — nor Zadok the priest, nor Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, nor your servant Solomon. Has this thing been done by my lord the king, and you have not told your servant who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?”
I said in Part One of this Article that “the only people that knows and understands the religious leaders so well are the politicians and if you pay closer attention, you’ll see that the religious leaders and the politicians are five and six. They’re always together. Without the backing of a religious system, any political power can and will fail. So also, any religious organizations that questions or challenge the power potency of a political system is already on its path of total destruction.”
You can see the potency of the power of Prophet Nathan the man of God, the religious leader working and in hand with Bathsheba to make Solomon a King even when Solomon was not thinking about it or working towards it. So, in 1 Kings 1:28-40 it was said that; then King David answered and said, “Call Bathsheba to me.” So she came into the king’s presence and stood before the king. And the king took an oath and said, “As the Lord lives, who has redeemed my life from every distress, just as I swore to you by the Lord God of Israel, saying, ‘Assuredly Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he shall sit on my throne in my place,’ so I certainly will do this day.”
Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and paid homage to the king, and said, “Let my lord King David live forever!” And King David said, “Call to me Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada.” So they came before the king. The king also said to them, “Take with you the servants of your lord, and have Solomon my son ride on my own mule, and take him down to Gihon. There let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him king over Israel; and blow the horn, and say, ‘Long live King Solomon!’ 35 Then you shall come up after him, and he shall come and sit on my throne, and he shall be king in my place. For I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and Judah.”
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king and said, “Amen! May the Lord God of my lord the king say so too. As the Lord has been with my lord the king, even so may He be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.” So Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the Cherethites, and the Pelethites went down and had Solomon ride on King David’s mule, and took him to Gihon. Then Zadok the priest took a horn of oil from the tabernacle and anointed Solomon. And they blew the horn, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!” And all the people went up after him; and the people played the flutes and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth seemed to split with their sound.
This is exactly how majority of us have our political leaders in power. Someone just handpicked them, declare them to us as our Presidents, Governors, Senators, Speakers, Local Government Chairmen, Counselors etc; then forcefully imposed them on us and we have no choice than to accept them.
Solomon was so incapable to the point that even after been made King, he still does not know what to do with the power that had just been bestowed on him. The same way we have so many politicians in power today without knowing what to do with the power except to steal public funds to build their own private estates and live larger than life; armed robbers to the teeth. Who are only interested in using the people to accomplish their evil objectives and dump them once they are done with them.
Solomon was so useless to the point that when God appeared to him in the dream and said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” 1 Kings 3:4-9 have it in record that King Solomon was so quick to say: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
Of all things, King Solomon asked for “understanding heart to judge the people that he may discern between good and evil”. What happened to the understanding heart to lead the people? Well, for your information, Politicians don’t lead; they steal and judge the people, that is, their job. And they don’t have to show face to judge you, they simply create a law that will judge you and hand over the law to the Lawyer who will judge you and jail you if you are found guilty.
In 1 Kings 3:10-14 it was said that the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. 14 So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”
King Solomon knew that having wisdom is not enough. The application of wisdom is what will produce the desire results. So King Solomon swung into action to make his wisdom work and in 1Kings 4:1-7 it was said that King Solomon was King over all Israel. And these were his officials: Azariah the son of Zadok, the priest; Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder; Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, over the army; Zadok and Abiathar, the priests; Azariah the son of Nathan, over the officers; Zabud the son of Nathan, a priest and the king’s friend; Ahishar, over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda, over the labour force.
These are the people that work directly with him on daily bases. But he did not stop there, the Bible went ahead to say that Solomon had twelve governors over all Israel, who provided food for the King and his household; each one made provision for one month of the year.
Now, let’s break this further for you to understand. Every state in any nation across the world pays Revenue to their central Government e.g. President, Prime Minister or the Royal Family in the case of the United Kingdom.
Let’s use Nigeria in this case; what the Local Governments generates in terms of funds –cash, money- every month, they transferred to the State Government after they must have stolen some for their own use. Whatever the State Government received from the Local Government each month, they transferred to the Federal Government after they must have stolen some for themselves. From what the Federal Government received from the states which they referred to as revenue, and other money they received from other ventures, they now take a fraction of it and give back to the States as Allocations. Then the rest they use it to pay themselves, fund their luxury lifestyles and what little that remained they use it to pay the Federal Government staffs. Politics is a game of a thief stealing and a thief hijacking it.
So, for a moment, imagine the amount of money and gifts King Solomon was receiving every month, just as your politicians are receiving from you every month without having nothing to show for it.
King Solomon was living larger than life just as many politicians are doing today and in 1Kings 4:20-34 it was said that Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing. So Solomon reigned over all Kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life. Now Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty kors of fine flour, sixty kors of meal, ten fatted oxen, twenty oxen from the pastures, and one hundred sheep, besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fatted fowl. For he had dominion over all the region on this side of the River from Tiphsah even to Gaza, namely over all the kings on this side of the River; and he had peace on every side all around him. And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, each man under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan as far as Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
Imagine the choice food these political liars are eating in their homes that you that get them to power and indirectly foot their bills cannot even afford to eat. So many people are getting into depression and suicide simply because they cannot provide for their family. And the little business they are doing to survive, the same politician they voted into power had used his or her power to wreck the business.
Anyway, it was said that Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. Imagine for a minute the fleet of cars in an average politician’s compound. Yet, you that is working tirelessly to generate the money they are spending lavishly don’t even have a bicycle to ride from one end to another.
And these governors, each man in his month, provided food for King Solomon and for all who came to King Solomon’s table. There was no lack in their supply. They also brought barley and straw to the proper place, for the horses and steeds, each man according to his charge.
Barley and straw in this context can be described as Fuel for their cars and diesel for their generators. So it doesn’t matter the price of fuel or diesel in the nation, it doesn’t affect the average politician. They have everything for free. They don’t have to pay for it. Someone else do the payment while they consume it.
And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore. Thus Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men; and his fame was in all the surrounding nations. He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five. Men of all nations, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the Wisdom of Solomon.
Every politician, both new and older generations are good liars and you cannot and can never beat them at it. The funniest thing is, you can’t afford to have them as your enemies. They are very ruthless and heartless in their dealings. For their personal ego, they can ruin a multinational investments that take years to build in one second without thinking of how many lives and destinies such decisions are going to affect.
So many people are out of jobs today because one politician picks offense with the owner of the company they are working in and the politician came up with a law or policy that can force the company out of business. After God, fear politicians. While the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, the fear of politician is the beginning of putting your brain work.
LAWYERS
Just as the religion organisation cannot survive with the backing of the political system, so also no lawyer and I mean no lawyer will have a job without political system creating a law and accenting to “the law”.
To be a good lawyer, you must be a liar, but to be a great and accomplished lawyer, you must be a master in the act of lying. Great lawyers don’t have a soul. They have their root and their nature in the word of Jesus Christ in John 8:44-45 saying; you are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
The New Living Translation says; for you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
The Message Bible says; you’re from your father, the Devil, and all you want to do is please him. He was a killer from the very start. He couldn’t stand the truth because there wasn’t a shred of truth in him. When the Liar speaks, he makes it up out of his lying nature and fills the world with lies.
While Lawyers worked with the Politicians to make their lies into laws; they go a step further to make a bad person look good and the good person look bad if you can pay their fee. Every case bought to any lawyer, the lawyer will always be on the side of his or her client guilty or not guilty.
Lawyers understand one language, money and they speak one language, lies. Anything short of that means that the person is not professional and the chances of the person making it is very slim. As my Pastor friend said; “honest people don’t make it in life”.
Lying is part of the requirement to be a good or great Lawyer. If you are a Lawyer and you love truth, I’m sorry; you are in a wrong profession.
In Matt 23:2-7, 13-32 Jesus gave us perfect descriptions of the Lawyers saying; “the teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them ‘Rabbi.’
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
“Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’ You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.’ You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? Therefore, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. And he who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices — mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law — justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers!
Now, is it wrong to be a Lawyer? No it is not. As a matter of facts, they are necessary evils; and if you want to survive in any venture, it is essential that you have them on board of your business if not you are not far from losing everything you’d ever worked for into the evil conspiracy of the politicians and their policies.
As my Grandmother will say, “it takes the black pot to produce the white pap” the fact that the lawyer are liars doesn’t mean they are of no good to you. As a matter of fact, you need their lying skill to survive in the world of business.
Therefore, if you love yourself and you don’t want your labours to go down the drain, you better have them as friends, close associates, partners etc.
