The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Lagos chapter, has commended the Sarkin Hausawan Lagos for his cash support to the Arewa community in the state.

Alhaji Aminu Yaro Dogara, the Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos, who is also the Chairman of Arewa Council of Chiefs in the state doled out cash as part of his contributions to support the people due to the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement signed by the chapter’s chairman, Adamu Yahaya, the AYCF described the traditional leader’s gesture as “a good step in the right direction and exemplary act of leadership.”

The organisation further noted that the revered traditional leader’s gesture has demonstrated “beyond reasonable doubt that the Sarkin Hausawa was a symbol of responsible leadership and respectability.”

The body expressed gratitude to the officials of the palace for ensuring “a well-organised and truly transparent system of financial support for people badly in need of assistance.”

The AYCF called on other spirited public individuals to emulate the “sacrifice and legendary generosity” of the Sarkin Hausawan of Lagos, who, according to body, constantly seek for better welfare and happiness of people in his domain.

It would be recalled that controversy recently arose over palliatives, reportedly approved by the Lagos State government for the Arewa community.
