LOYALTY

Sam Adeoye

Loyalty is like a Coin. There are two sides to it. You can be loyal to someone who is not loyal to you. My dear friend, you’re doomed.

Back in 2006, I was serving in a ministry. Every day, we have prayer hours before we start working in the church office and we have prayer hours before the close of work for the day.

Jesus, I’ve never seen the kind of evil and wickedness in my life the way I saw it in that place.

The same people you work together and pray together every day in a church office and yet they go behind you to destroy you and say all kinds of things about you.

For me, that was nothing but the gathering of wickedness.

Anyway, in those days, the prayer secretary of the church always used Bishop Abioye as an example of what it means to be loyal to a ministry and the founder of the ministry.

But I do ask myself, what if I’m loyal to a Man and a Ministry that is never loyal to me?

I was right. Many people went to the General Overseer of the Church to tell all kinds of lies about me and instead of him calling me directly to ask me if what he was told was true, he kept quiet and said nothing. Until the day he said to me, “King, keep up with the good work you are doing but still watch your back”.

That’s enough words for the wise.

Some years back I was discussing with a family friend on the phone and the Wife was telling me about her father-daughter relationship with Bishop David Abioye some years back and I said to her, “You have limited time to go visit him. Time is ticking. His time is gradually coming to an end in that office”.

Anyway, a few months ago, Winners’ Chapel officially retired its Vice Presidents, citing that they had reached the age limit set for service in the commission.

I asked myself; were they told about the age limit before they were employed into the commission? I don’t think so.

At the time of his retirement, Bishop David Abioye declared his unwavering commitment to the ministry and made a promise not to start his own church.

My question is, is church an individual’s decision and choice to start or God’s directive?

Once it is your own thing to start then it is no longer God. And you are at liberty to do what you like because you started it not God.

Well, in the weeks following his retirement, he initiated a non-denominational outreach program called Revival Hours, where he has been teaching fundamental Christian truths and addressing issues he believes are lacking in the body of Christ.

So many people will question his decision to a non-denominational outreach program but let’s be realistic, what do you expect him to do?

The only thing he knew all his life was to hold microphones and preach. Whether God called him at the initial state or Bishop David Oyedepo called him doesn’t matter.

The only place he can function effectively is in the church business; period.

Maybe you don’t know, let me tell you. Bishop Abioye joined the church in 1979 and became the youngest bishop in 1993. He has been a trusted aide to founder Bishop David Oyedepo.

For a good 45 years, he had been preaching. Which means he is already a professor in preaching. There is no other trade he can do now that he will be proficient in it, let’s be realistic.

However, Winners’ Chapel’s annual flagship event, Shiloh, commenced yesterday, but Bishop David Abioye was not there and his absence has drawn significant attention.

While it is understood that his retirement excludes him from preaching at the event, one will agree to the fact that his mere presence would have been a powerful symbol of his continued commitment to the ministry, as he had pledged during his valedictory service.

Well, many of us need to understand the fact that there is no smoke without fire. And if anyone thinks that either Bishop David Oyedepo or Bishop David Abioye will come out to tell what went wrong that led to the retirement, you deceived yourself.

The only thing we all have to know and understand what is going on is time.

Whatever it is that is going on between Bishop David Oyedepo and Bishop David Abioye is a lesson for us all to learn.

I hope the next generation of leaders in every aspect of life not just in ministry are watching and learning, and are paying attention to not just what is being said but also their actions. Remember, actions speak louder than words.

One might say that Bishop David Abioye’s 45 years of service should be honoured, not dismissed as if it were trivial.

True, but still honour comes in two ways just as loyalty.

A person who thinks and believes that you did not honour him/her in some aspects of life, service or duty will find every means to discredit you including walking over you.

Five things you must never forget as you walk through the journeys of life.

  1. The fact that you are loyal to someone doesn’t mean the person will be loyal to you. Loyalty comes based on the amount of values and regard the person has for you.
  2. You are just a tool to your employer. No matter how dedicated you are to his cause, visions and dreams; you are nothing but a tool to achieve his/her aims and objectives.
  3. Never neglect yourself. While helping someone to reach his/her desired destinations; use the same opportunity to groom yourself. Open yourself up to learning and connections. Nothing lasts forever.
  4. Trust everyone but trust yourself more. No matter the position you find yourself in life, people wish they were the ones to be in their position. Some of them will do anything possible to outwit you. Be wise.
  5. Letting your employer know that you know too much can pose a threat to him/her. No matter what you know, never allow your employer to know that you know. Play the game of a deceiver because he/she is also deceiving you to his/her advantage.

Sometimes, the majority of us are hit with unexpected because we don’t know how to take a bow.

Sometimes in 2000, God told me to leave the church I was attending then but I refused because of the attention and accolades I was enjoying in that ministry.

By 2003, I was in serious trouble with the ministry and the same General Overseer of the ministry I was trying to help. It was so bad that I nearly lost my life.

Now, if I’d left the ministry back in 2000 when God said I should leave, what happened in 2003 wouldn’t have happened.

I wouldn’t say that God told Bishop David Abioye to leave the ministry before he was systematically retired. But one thing I know for sure is this, it is either God spoke to him to leave and he refused to leave or he postponed leaving like I did in 2000.

Or he could not hear God warning him ahead of time like Prophet Eli. Because if God can tell me a few years back that “His time is gradually coming to an end in that office”; it is a clear indication that God had spoken to him but he was either refused to listen or too busy to hear.

Whichever one it is, the deeds are done and it is obvious that God has moved from what we previously known to be church.

On October 25, 2023, I made a post on my Facebook Page titled “RESIGNED”.

In that post, I said, “Isaac Oyedepo, the second son of Bishop David Oyedepo, who was recently appointed as the Global Youth Pastor of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, resigned to start up his ministry. He said, “My God-given mandate is to reclaim a generation and to ensure that this generation sees the fire of God-revival in our generation.”

Honestly, I have no doubt of his calling, but his decision to pull out of his father’s ministry made me smile and no matter how well they tried to make the public believe that it’s fine, internally it is not and I hope they’ll find a means to make this work.

The wrong impression this will create is his unwillingness and readiness to submit himself to the leadership of his Brother, David.

How come it is now God called him to start a new ministry? The Global Youth arm of the ministry extended to him is not enough…? Just asking.

If they’d given him a position next to his brother, that would have been more of it. But still, that will raise unnecessary alarm and create a bar between the ministry and the loyalists most especially Bishop David Abioye and whoever is on the waiting list to take over from Bishop David Abioye.

If the Wife is not the brain behind his resignation, then it will be that he doesn’t take advice from his wife. If there is anyone that is supposed to talk him out of this, it is supposed to be the Wife.

A Man who has respect for his Wife and values her should never make a decision without discussing it with his wife

This is painful I must say, the case between him and his brother is more of the case between Jacob and Esau, or Ishmael and Isaac; birthright is a myth; get over it before it consumes you.

As Diekolola Ojoma said, “I am not surprised about this. Pastor Isaac has always wanted something more, and has a keen for something unstructured… I wish him well in this new journey”.

Again, I’m not against him leaving the family ministry, I’m only concerned about the timing of his leaving. I wish him all the best of luck.

Hmmm, it is well with us all.

The same day, I made another Post titled “ISAAC OYEDEPO”.

Here I said, “First, I take full responsibility for the post I made earlier regarding the resignation of Pastor Isaac Oyedepo from the Living Faith Church and I’m not going to delete or edit it.

When I said in that post that there was more to this, many people thought I didn’t know what I was saying or I was judging and condemning his actions. I’m not and I made it clear both from the beginning and the end of the post that I do not doubt his calling or decision. But the timing.

What you’re about to read here are the many things about Isaac Oyedepo that many people did not know, some of which are major issues between him and his father, Bishop David Oyedepo.

For your information, Bishop David Oyedepo is a Man I respect so much any time, any day and this has nothing to do with attacking his person. This is just to clear the air on some issues and let the living live.

Isaac had always wanted this to be different, and he was different from the rest of the children. No wonder Kenneth Copeland laid hands on him and him alone among all the children and deposited himself in him.

For those who knew him when he was pastoring Sunny Vale Locogoma Branch in Abuja, I believe they can testify to the fact that he is a person who reached out to people, was very generous, always giving, sponsored marriages, and changed a lot of lives.

Well, as soon as the father found out about his good deeds, he was instantly taken out and transferred to another place.

Isaac Oyedepo has always been against this church shenanigans and he was against the removal of the Pastor who took over from him when he left the Sunny Vale Locogoma Branch.

Isaac has a mind of his own, is very approachable, and always stands against his father. He was always vocal about the church having so much wealth and the members not benefiting.

If he knows you are in a relationship with a Lady for over a year, he will call you immediately and ask why, if it’s money he will set you up and give you funds in millions.

He is not into prosperity stuff and people love him, you can’t know him one and one and not love him.

Bishop David Abioye is Isaac Oyedepo’s spiritual father; what an irony.

I believe in his calling and whatever God has assigned him to do, and I believe so much that he will excel in ministry. But at the same time, why hang around in a place where you are caged and not allowed to be yourself? Why stay in a place where you are tolerated and not celebrated?

I want to believe that this will mark the beginning of a new era in the church system. It is well with us all.”

Isaac Oyedepo resigned from the Living Faith on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, his spiritual father in the person of Bishop David Abioye’s farewell ceremony took place in Durumi, Abuja on Friday, October 18, 2024. Almost a year after Isaac Oyedepo resigned.

Anyway, whether resigned or retired it doesn’t count as long as the Lord is the one behind it all.

Time and time again I’ve told some people, that if you have not been a serving Pastor in a church, pioneered a church yourself or started your church ministry you will never know or understand the kind of evil and wickedness that happens in the church.

Last year I said whatever is going on in Winners “I want to believe will mark the beginning of a new era in the church system.” That new era had started.

As of the time I said that Dr. Abel Damina had not started speaking against the false doctrines and practices in the church.

If you are not a lover of God, truth and humanity; you can never come out boldly to speak about/against the evil and wickedness going on in the church.

Maybe now that Bishop David Abioye is adding his voice to the voice of many of us who started speaking about/against evil and wickedness in the church in 2009 some people will start to listen.

I know very soon some people will come against him and call him a betrayal.

Some will claim that he’s attacking the church of Jesus Christ.

Some will say he is angry with the Man he served under for several years.

Whatever their claim is or will likely be; it doesn’t matter.

The truth is finally coming out in different shades and forms from different quarters. That is God in action.

2019 God told me He is coming against the church and He is going to shake the foundations upon which the church was built to its core foundation.

Now it’s happening.

Who knows about Dr Abel Damina speaking against falsehoods in the church back in 2019?

No one!

Who knows about Bishop David O. Abioye speaking against the false practices in the church in January 2024?

No one!

Go back to all my Posts from 2009, and check Sam Adeoye II you will see and read so many.

I strongly believe that God is pulling out voices in the church to start building on the foundation He had helped me and strengthened me to lay over the years.

Please, note that the moves of God always start quietly and unnoticed. And in most cases, He starts His moves with the unknown. David and Saul turned Paul were perfect examples of such moves.

God had moved from what the majority of us knew to be the church. God is pioneering a new move.

I’m glad I knew about this since 2006 and I thank God for the opportunity to be a voice and a vessel He used to pioneer this.

Then they called me Antichrist and all kinds of names. Some Pastor friends are still on my Page we’re glad to see my marriage crashing, they even celebrated it.

When I announced that God told me to close down the church, they were super excited. Thinking ministry is all over.

But they failed to realize that God doesn’t need a building made with the hands of Men to manifest Himself. He only needed a ready vessel.

And now, He is pulling out the ready and willing vessels to walk with Him on the new and fresh path.

You have a choice, to stick with the old or join the new.

Welcome to “the era of the true church”. A no place for the liars, the thieves and the manipulators.

Lord, thank you for the opportunity to see this day.

Thank you for the opportunity to listen and to obey you.

Thank you for counting me worthy to pioneer this move for your Kingdom.

I’m so grateful Lord.

To you alone be all the glory, honour and adoration.

I’m glad God has finally proven Himself and all the Pastors and Christian brothers and sisters who are calling me names and insulting me on Social Media can now see that I’m not the Antichrist after all, I just chose the path of truth and exposed the lies some people lies all in the name of God.

Now the General Overseers of churches are coming out to address the lies and amend their ways. First on the list was Dr Creflo Dollar, followed by Rev. Sam Adeyemi, then Dr Abel Damina, then Pastor Adejare Adeboye and now Pastor Willam Kumuyi.

But when God told me to start this back in 2010 it was a serious internal war. Then when I finally started, I lost all my friends and relationships. People avoid me like a plaque. But today, the name of the Lord is glorified.

Friends, you don’t have to Pastor a church or Pastor a big church before God can use you. All you have to do is to be available and obedient. Every other thing will fall in place.

If God had called you, and you know it’s not a flash call but a real call. A flash call is the one when your Pastor is the one who calls you into ministry. He can fire you at any time as they systematically fired Bishop David Abioye; and tagged it as a new mandate. You’re old, go home and rest.

If your call is truly of God; then put yourself together and ignore the blinds that are/will call you names.

Jesus Christ never pastor a church. He only had 120 people who believed strongly in his assignments, 9 of them assisted him with administrative work and 3 of them worked as his Personal Assistants; and with these people, he conquered the whole world.

If Jesus can do it, I can do it, you can do it, we can do it. After all, Jesus Christ said in John 14:12-14, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

Welcome to the era of church without walls.
